"Radar", as he was known, came to us in the fall of 1987. He was a 3 month old ball of fire that instantly made is presence known in our lives. He was an extremely sound dog mentally, almost to the point of being too sound, and it affected his enjoyment in the show ring. He finished his Canadian Championship at a young age, and was shown very sparingly as a Special. "Radar" was just what I'd call a "Cool" Dog... He gave us many "Firsts": He was our first Canadian champion, our first Best Puppy in Show winner, First 1st placed futurity winner and our first Best of Breed winner. He was a good moving dog, with an outstanding back, good rear and shoulder. He stood 26 1/4" at the shoulder and weighed 80 pounds. He carried a very close coat and also carried the black gene. He could have used more substance and bone. "Radar" was a decent producing dog, but was not appreciated as a stud dog by many people, so did not produce that many puppies. His producing ability, not appreciated while he was at stud, to me was gained by the abilities of his children to produce his many good qualities. Radar is in the background of all homebred Inflight Dogs and I still see some of his many qualities in his great, great grand children. |
